One of my favorite style of art would have to be pointillism. I love how they are able to make such a portriat from a ton of tiny little dots that are all different shades of each color. How these artists are able to make shadows and wrinkles in the dresses from all these tiny dots is fascinating. The picture i uploaded above is one of my favorites and is probably the most famous painting of pointillism. Georges Seurat called this painting "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte"which incorporates alot of animals, women, men, and children. Its suppose to show you what upper class people would usually do on a sunday with there family. The detail is just amazing to me even in the distance you can still make out all the people and the reflection of light of the water is perfect. What really draws me into this style of art and its relation to technology is that pixels for our televisions and computer screen goes off the same concept as pointillism. I love the fact that it relates and indirectly contributes to technology in today's age. Who would have known that pointillism who have an impact in such a way down the road. Does anyone else have any comments about this painting?
